This unusual find is a 9" by 4" brochure that folds open to a full 16" and describes the history of Cathay Pacific Airways, "a Butterfield & Swire Associated Company". Each section of history is broken down by specific years from the founding of Cathay Pacific in 1946 with specific road markers in 1948, 1954, 1957, 1959, and finally in 1961 when this brochure was published.
Graphics are primarily drawings on the cover illustrating the silhouette of several four engine and a twin engine airliner, a detailed route map on the inside section of the Cathay Pacific Airways system branching out across lower Asia and the South Pacific from Hong Kong, as well as one photo of Cathay Pacific Lockheed L-188A Electra registration VR-HFO.
An interesting side note: This particular Electra was C/n 1004, only the 4th Electra off the assembly line and prior to flying with Cathay Pacific, served Lockheed on the Electra's World Demontration Tour as N7144C! Please Click On Image For A Closer Look!
